Troy Flanagan is the Director of high performance for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), a sports physiologist and an aerospace engineer. Creating the future and making it a successful one, is part of Flanagan’s job. He joined USSA in 2007 for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Under Troy’s leadership, the US ski and snowboard team more than doubled its medal tally in 2010, winning 21 medals compared to 10 in 2006. As a result, the US now stands as the number one ranked nation overall in skiing and snowboarding.
In this presentation, Troy talks about ‘performance techniques for excellence in individuals and teams’. He helps us to comprehend the mind and the science behind what it takes to win Gold, and leads us to ground-breaking problem solving approaches used by the world’s greatest ‘Thinkers’. He also discusses how to ‘sell’ an idea, fund-raise the impossible and craft a new reality for the future of sports technology.
