Hila Oren is the CEO of the Tel Aviv Foundation. The Tel Aviv Foundation partners with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality to meet the evolving needs of the City with the establishment of social services, educational, cultural, environmental and innovative urban projects. Hila is an entrepreneur and innovator and the founder of Tel Aviv Global Administration, responsible to oversees and directs the strategic task force in charge of developing and implementing a national project of elevating Tel Aviv’s international positioning as Israel’s Global City and promoting and marketing the city’s tourism. Hila was appointed after she held leadership positions at government offices and tourism companies.
Hila is an expert in urban development and focuses on the identification of the economic strengths while incorporating the financial, digital, tourism and creative forces in the city.
During her term, the Startup City vision was formed – a municipal strategic plan for investors, entrepreneurs, tourists and students tying a city platform with a private initiative.Tel Aviv was ranked the #1 startup ecosystem in Europe, second only to Silicon Valley and #21 global financial center in the GFCI ranking.
Hila is also a board member of the Amidar National Housing Company, a board member of the Vertigo Dance Troupe and a board member on the Neot Kdumim Park.
She is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography at Haifa University, working on a thesis regarding the global branding of Tel Aviv. She holds a BA with honors and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Tel Aviv University.
